food as texture, home
No money. Worried basically constantly. Shame. I'm hungry. I'm working seven days per week. It's Monday. I made no money today and yesterday the same (roasted cauliflower soup, also blended, also chunky, wondering about whether to strain and a warm sandwich on toasted ciabatta with kale sunflower seeds romanesco melted mozzarella a fried egg and balsamic that has congealed or been formed into little crunchy morsels like freeze-dried bacon. It smells up the whole "fry the eggs" that I think because it's the same kind of one we used, unventilated, that would embed itself into my clothes, hair, and those of the customers, hereee). What am I doing? I need treats for no reason.

recipe for getting yellow sunscreen stains out of white clothing
do not bleach - this will turn the stain pink
do not wash before treating - this will bake the stain in, as it were
1. sprinkle baking soda over stain and rub in gently with dry toothbrush
2. put dish soap on stain (i use white or clear dish soap just to be safe) and rub in gently with toothbrush
3. leave to sit for a few hours
4. do not rinse. pour white vinegar over stain, then soak overnight in 50/50 water/vinegar solution
5. next day wash cold in machine with your normal laundry soap - should come out!

i have perfected the art of leczo
sautee yellow/white onions and/or leek in lots of olive oil
add some kind of smoked, kiełbasa-adjacent sausage or bacon or smokey veggie sausage/bacon & sautee until browned and kinda sticking to the bottom of pot (but not burnt)
add garlic and chopped red pepper and sautee for a few minutes
add chopped zucchini and salt and sautee for a few minutes
add smoked paprika, tomato paste, pepper, more salt, other spices (like dried margoram, bay leaf) and sautee for a bit
in blender or with stick blender, blend some cooked white beans (like navy, butter bean, cannelini, etc) with equal amounts canned tomato or passata etc until smooth
add bean-tomato blend to pot, stir, heat thru, taste, season with more salt + pepper and smoked paprika if needed. bean-tomato blend should just cover the ingredients to make a thick stew.
if you want it soupier, add water swooshed around in the tomato can (or just water lol)
i usually let it sit on low heat for ten minutes or so to integrate

Flavigny-sur-Ozerain
Anise candies were first made by the Benedictine monks of the abbey of Flavigny (founded in 719), as reported by the Roman traveller Flavius. After the French revolution, several confectioners began making this delicacy using the same recipe. Only one manufacturer remains today at the abbey, Maison Troubat, who claims to follow a recipe which has been in use since 1591.

Gooseberries, the last seasonal fruit
A favourite country house dish was a gooseberry tansey, made by frying the fruit in butter and pouring a mixture of egg yolks and cream sweetened with sugar into the frying pan. The finished tansey was then strewn with rosewater and sugar.

Person silently reading a book about wine on the train. Another person reading out loud from a book. A bit of a weird thing to do, read out loud. Riders steal glances and so do I. If they were talking to someone their behaviour would be deemed socially acceptable, a non-thought. Reading out loud to self unacceptable.
